Florida hotel and motel leads
Florida licenses public lodging at the state level, so one agency's files cover the whole peninsula and the Panhandle. Our copy holds 5,715 licensed hotels, motels, transient apartments and bed and breakfast inns, and 4,270 of them carry a phone number. Vacation rental licences from the same agency sit in the short-term rental file, so a Florida plan reaches both.
Counts refreshed 2026-11-03. Issuing agency: Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), Division of Hotels and Restaurants.

How Florida licenses lodging
Section 509.242 sets the classes. A hotel has sleeping room accommodations for 25 or more guests. A motel needs an outside exit for each unit, daily or weekly rates, off-street parking, a central office and at least six rental units.
A transient apartment is a building where more than a quarter of the units are held out for short stays, which is why this class reaches apartment and condo buildings run partly as lodging. A bed and breakfast inn is a family home structure with no more than 15 sleeping rooms.

What the Florida file leaves out
The extracts publish no email address, so a Florida list is a phone and mail list. They also publish no licence issue date, so we date a new licence by the day it first reached our database.
Florida's file moves slowly: 10 new licences reached our copy between 2026-10-13 and 2026-11-03. It suits working the operating hotels of a territory better than chasing openings.

Working the Florida list
Oceanfront and tourist strips
Miami Beach, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Key West rank near the top of the file. A linen, pool or laundry route can be sized town by town before anyone drives it.
Class filter
Type a class into the permit type filter to pull motels without hotels, or only bed and breakfast inns. A small inn is more likely to be run by its owner than a large hotel is.
Florida questions
Does the Florida file include vacation rentals?
Not this one. DBPR vacation rental licences are in our short-term rental file, and a Florida plan includes both sets.
Are there email addresses?
No. DBPR's lodging extracts carry a phone but no email, so plan on calling or mailing.
