Custom lead generation software / San Diego
Custom lead generation software development in San Diego
Biotech, defence and the border each leave a different public trail — we build separate engines to read each one.
San Diego build sheet
Work is remote and the records are public, so where your office sits does not change the build — but which counties publish what absolutely does.
San Diego is not one market. Selling into the biotech corridor along Torrey Pines is a different data problem from selling to defence primes and their subcontractors, which is different again from the brewing and hospitality trade in North Park or the cross-border logistics operators near Otay Mesa. Off-the-shelf lead tools flatten all of that into the same generic company record. We build software that treats each of those as its own pipeline, with its own sources and its own definition of a qualified account.
A build here usually starts with one clear trigger event — a bid award posted, an entity registered, a licence issued, a permit filed — and works outward from there. We write the collectors, handle the deduplication against your existing customer base, verify what needs verifying, and deliver into whatever your team already uses. Everything runs on a schedule you set. Builds start at $1,500. The code and the database are yours when we hand them over.
Public sources in California
- California Secretary of State entity registrations
- City of San Diego business tax certificates
- Public procurement and bid award postings
- FMCSA carrier registrations
Coverage is uneven by county and agency. Some publish daily with contact details attached; some publish an address and nothing else. Which of these actually carry your market is the first thing we map — before any code is written or any invoice is sent.
San Diego industries we build for
Life sciences and biotech
The buyer set turns over constantly as new entities form, spin out and relocate within the corridor. Vendors selling equipment or services need to catch formation and facility build-out early. Entity registrations plus lab and tenant-improvement permits mark both events, and software can watch them without a person checking portals.
Defence contracting and suppliers
Subcontracting opportunity follows published awards, and awards are public. The problem is that they sit across several posting systems in inconsistent formats. A collector that reads award postings, extracts the prime and the scope, and matches it to your capability set turns a research task into a daily alert.
Craft brewing and beverage
Suppliers to breweries and taprooms need to know about new licence holders, expansions and second locations before the equipment decisions are made. California liquor licence records and county health inspection rolls both show that activity. Software combines them and flags first-time licensees separately from established operators.
Tourism and hospitality operations
Hotels, tour operators and venue suppliers work a buyer list that changes with ownership and licensing. Business tax certificates, liquor licences and inspection records show openings, closures and changes of hands. A pipeline that reconciles those into a single venue record with current operator names keeps outbound accurate.
Cross-border trade and logistics
Freight brokers and 3PLs near the border compete for carriers and shippers that appear and disappear quickly. FMCSA carrier registrations show new authority and fleet details. Combined with entity filings and warehouse permits, software can identify operators scaling into the corridor before they are on anyone's call list.
Three builds that fit this market
Concrete examples, not a menu. Every real build is scoped to one company's sources and sales motion.
Bid award crawler with capability matching
We build collectors against public procurement and bid award postings relevant to your sector, parse each award for the awarded entity, scope language and posting date, then score it against a capability profile you define. Matches above threshold land in your CRM as opportunities with the source document attached. Runs daily, keeps a full archive, and lets you re-score history when your capability profile changes.
Life-sciences entity and facility tracker
A pipeline watching California Secretary of State registrations for new entities in your target classifications, joined to city business tax certificates and tenant-improvement permits in the research corridor. The system flags formation, first facility and expansion as distinct events. Output is a company timeline rather than a flat row, so your reps can see whether a lab is forming, fitting out or already operating.
FMCSA carrier feed with authority-change alerts
A scheduled job pulls carrier registration data, filters to operators with a footprint in the San Diego and Imperial corridor, and tracks changes in authority status, fleet size fields and address. New authority grants and address moves generate alerts. Records are deduped against your book of business so reps never call an existing customer as if they were new. Delivered by API or CSV drop.

Is scraping public records legal in California?
We build against sources that are published for public access — state entity registrations, city business tax certificates, permits, licence rolls and award postings. We respect each site's terms and rate limits, and we do not build tools that collect personal data outside those public filings. If a source you want is restricted, we will say so during scoping rather than build something that puts you at risk.
Can you build something that only tracks the biotech corridor?
Yes, and narrow is usually better. We define the geography by postcode, city or parcel boundary and the industry by classification codes and keyword rules on filing text. The pipeline then ignores everything else. A tightly scoped build costs less to run, produces fewer false positives, and is easier for your reps to trust than a broad feed nobody reads.
How do you keep the data from going stale?
Every record carries a last-seen timestamp and a source reference. Scheduled runs re-check existing records, not just new ones, so status changes, address moves and closures update in place. Verification runs on contact fields at an interval you choose. You get a dashboard showing how much of the database was refreshed in the last cycle.
