New trucking company leads for freight factoring companies

A new for-hire carrier bills for every load it hauls, starting with the first one. The census file shows which new carriers filed for an MC docket and run for hire, which is where a factoring offer fits.

Counts refreshed October 29, 2026 from the live file.

How factoring companies use the file

Start with MC docket and for hire

Filter For hire only, then keep rows with an MC docket. That removes private fleets that move their own goods and most carriers that run only inside one state.

Size the offer by fleet

Single-truck carriers and fleets of six or more need different terms. The Power units column lets you split the list before anyone calls.

Follow up on a schedule

Download new registrations weekly. A carrier that registered three weeks ago may be hauling its first loads now.

A worked example

  1. Choose Registered in the last 30 days: 11,218 carriers today, every state.
  2. Turn on For hire only, then sort the download by the MC docket column. 40% of the carriers in the file have an MC docket; applied to the 30-day group that is about 4,489 carriers (an estimate).
  3. Split by Power units. 122,643 carriers in the file report one power unit or none and 46,926 report two to five.
  4. Set Has to Phone and email, so each carrier can get a short email first and a call after the scrub.
  5. Pull again every week: each Monday's 7-day pull holds the carriers that registered since the last one.

The first message

Lead with how your terms work for a carrier with no payment history: advance rate, fees, recourse and how fast funds arrive. Do not promise approval before you have checked the carrier and its brokers. Send a plain email the owner can read after a shift rather than calling someone who may be driving.

What the file does not tell you

The file does not show revenue, loads hauled, the brokers a carrier works with or whether it already factors. An MC docket in the file means the carrier filed for one; check its current status before you rely on it.

Compliance

Calls to owner-operators often reach personal mobiles, which the federal Do Not Call rules protect. Scrub first, call by hand, and keep email opt-outs working under CAN-SPAM. Public records are not consent to be called. This is not legal advice. Terms of use.

Questions

Why filter on the MC docket?
An MC docket is the operating authority a for-hire carrier files for to haul other people's freight across state lines. A new carrier with an MC docket and for-hire status is the group most likely to be sending its first freight invoices.
Does the file show a carrier's credit or revenue?
No. It holds what the carrier reported to the FMCSA at registration: contact details, fleet size, operation and cargo. Nothing about credit, revenue or payments.
