District of Columbia hotel and motel leads
The District publishes two useful lists that overlap. The licence feed names the holder of each hotel, inn, bed and breakfast and rooming house licence, and the GIS hotel layer gives a phone for each hotel. Between them we hold 499 rows and 169 phone numbers.
Counts refreshed 2026-11-04. Issuing agency: DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection and the DC Office of the Chief Technology Officer.

How District of Columbia licenses lodging
Licences come from the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection as basic business licences, each stating an activity such as Hotel or Inn and Motel. We keep the active ones.
Because the same hotel can appear on both lists, once with its owner and once with its phone, match them on the address if you want one row per hotel. Both are published under CC BY 4.0, and our terms carry the credit.

What the District of Columbia file leaves out
Email is missing entirely. Rooming houses come through the licence feed too, and are worth filtering out if you only sell to hotels.
We took these copies on 2026-11-04. The licence feed gives each licence's first issue date, so you can sort for recent openings.

Working the District of Columbia list
Hotel phones
The GIS list suits a call campaign to front desks. Most of it is larger branded and downtown hotels.
Small operators
The licence feed reaches the bed and breakfasts and rooming houses that a hotel directory tends to miss, with the holder's billing address.
District of Columbia questions
Do short-term rentals appear here?
No. District rental licences are a separate data set, covered by the same plan.
Why two rows for one hotel?
The District publishes two lists, and we keep both as published.
