STR permit data for DSCR and short-term rental lenders

Lenders who finance short-term rentals want two lists: owners who may refinance and investors who may buy again. Permit records point to both. Across the city files on this site, 7,610 records sit under names that appear on two or more property addresses, and 23,590 records nationwide were dated in the last 12 months.

Counts refreshed 2026-10-08 from the live database.

What the data lets you do

Find portfolio investors

A name on several permits is an investor building a portfolio. City pages show how many records sit under names with two, and with ten or more, properties.

Follow the markets still growing

Filing dates show where permits are being added. Markets with steady new filings are where new operators are entering.

Qualify the property type

Permit types tell you what the collateral is: a Florida condo or house, a Nashville owner-occupied or investor permit, a Texas residential lessor or a hotel.

Reach owners by phone or by mail

Phone and email come straight from the registers that publish them; everywhere else the property address and the name on the permit are the starting point.

Records dated in the last 12 months, where the register publishes a date. Florida and Wisconsin license files carry almost no dates, so they rank low here without being slow markets. Live counts as of 2026-10-08.

What the data does not tell you

Permit data carries no loan, lien, income or credit information and nothing about the owner's existing financing. It identifies licensed rentals and their holders; underwriting is yours.

Compliance

Lending solicitations by phone fall under the TCPA and Do Not Call rules, and many permit phones are personal mobiles. Credit marketing can carry further federal and state disclosure rules, so have compliance review any campaign. Public availability is not consent. Read the compliance guide.

Questions

Does the data include mortgage or lien information?
No. These are short-term-rental permit and license records: the holder, the property, the permit type, status and date where published.
Which state is adding the most permits?
As of 2026-10-08, Louisiana has the most records dated in the last 12 months (6,261). The table on this page ranks the rest.
Can I find owners with several properties?
Yes, where the register publishes owner names. Each city page shows the share of records whose name appears on two or more property addresses, and the multi-property owner guide explains how to work that list.
What does the data cost?
$99 a month for one state, $299 a month for all 26 states, or a one-time download of $149 for a state and $499 for the national file. Pricing details.
